"BAREFOOT TANGO" dance solo performance of Ana Karakasheva 16th and 17th October 2004 from 20.00 in Center for Contemporary Art - Plovdiv, Ancient Bath premises.
The performance is based on the music of Pano Manuilidis and Astor Piacola and has been inspired by the film ?Last tango in Paris?. It has been specially created for the Ancient Bath premises. The lack of special equipment and light togather with the ordinary costume aim at directing the attention exclusively to the dance.
The performance's theme is the conflict between exhaustion and movement. The choreographer and performer Ana Karakasheva explores the movement as a methafor of life itself, she uses different resources to express one only body in the empty space partnering with the walls and the floor.
Ana Karakasheva has graduated as an actor in the National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts. She started dancing classic ballet when she was 5. Then she studied jazz ballet and butho dance. She participates in many dance workshops in Bulgaria and abroad. She has a 8-years-old daughter and they attend a flamenko school together. "BAREFOOT TANGO" is her debut in the dance theatre.
